I have considerable experience working with a very wide range of visuals – from stock imagery, history of art and vintage book covers and records, to high-end fashion, architecture, landscape and nature photography. I am skilled in managing very demanding and variable workloads and have cleared copyright for thousands of images. Duties have included:

• Obtaining high-quality visuals from a variety of sources, including photographers, photography agencies, image libraries, Flickr, artists, galleries, museum archives and private collections.

• Contacting picture libraries and other sources outside the UK.

• Clearing copyright and organising captions and credits.

• Negotiating fees.

• Filing invoices and ensuring prompt payment.

• Basic image editing using Photoshop.

• Managing and working within agreed budgets.

• Working closely with publishers, designers, editors, creative
directors, writers, project managers and sales and
marketing teams.

• Securing images for promotional use (catalogues, leaflets,
social media, and other marketing material).

• Checking quality and resolution of images.

• Creating image databases.

• Reading manuscripts and devising own lists of images.

• Being given images of an unknown source; sourcing
photographer/artist and clearing all related copyright.

• Handling and scanning rare and archive material, including
transparencies; returning them to providers.

• Digital asset management.

• Creating visual moodboards for inspiration using InDesign.

• Checking image reproductions in proofs.

• Creating Excel spreadsheets, recording information such as
progress, delivery of files, credits and captions, fees and
other information.
