Experienced picture researcher with a strong background in publishing. Displaying a calm and efficient attitude to work, combined with a passion for great visual content and rights licensing. Currently available for in-house or freelance work. I work with stills but would love to work with footage too.

Freelance projects have included the book ‘Mapping the Roads’ – the history of road mapping in the UK – which included research at a number of institutions including the British Library. Work for an online science site, clearing rights for the athlete portraits in the Daily Olympic Programmes, selecting/placing images in travel guide books for Insight Travel Guides and travel book covers for Dorling Kindersley.

I was a Senior Picture Researcher for AA Media (Automobile Association) for nine years working across travel guide books and coffee table books. Included commissioning photographers, working internationally, negotiating fees, clearing copyright and managing other freelancers. Travel guides included Brazil, China, Costa Rica, Italian lakes, Prague and London amongst others. Coffee table books – The Fisherman’s Apprentice with Monty Halls, National Parks of Britain, Heritage Landscapes, World Heritage Sites of Britain, Exploring Britain’s Country Gardens, Sustrans Cycling in the UK and Somerville’s Travels.

Also previous experience working for a magazine publisher and a photographic library specialising in interiors.
